Subhash Prasad Gupta, currently deputy chief of mission in Hanoi, has been appointed as India’s next ambassador to Suriname by the ministry of external affairs. Gupta, from the 2006 IFS batch, will assume duties shortly. India-Suriname relations, established in 1976, include embassies in Paramaribo and New Delhi.
